It's a Schlitterbahn Christmas!

Yep, you heard right. Schlitterbahn (our huge waterpark down here) started a new thing this year... Schlitterbahn Christmas! We went online to see what it was all about and I couldn't stand not to go! Being the lover of this season that I am, I love to get into the whole mood of holiday things that are cozy and fun and bring people together. Some of our best friends, Matt and Sharon, are the same way, so we know we can always count on them to want to do fun, Christmastime activities!

We weren't sure if it would be a total dud or not, but decided to give it a try! It was great! I'm not sure what we would have thought pre-kids, but post, we were impressed! Lots of lights, carolers singing that looked as if they came right out of The Christmas Carol. They had ice skating, hot chocolate and cider, a light show on the river done to music, a maze through hay, music playing, a pool that was turned into a hot tub, and it even "snowed!" They also had a bobsled down one of the waterslides, but we didn't do that. And you could meet Santa and Mrs. Claus... which we decided against due to the lines and we wanted the boys to last since it was way past bedtime anyway!

As we were feeling like kids ourselves, Sharon and I started finding another common bond between the two of us..... our love for cotton candy! :) We joked that we didn't understand why they didn't have that there when it seemed so appropriate! About halfway through our time, as we were moving towards where it was "snowing," I looked and saw the beautiful sight of feathery pink! :) It's funny that I am allergic to grains and some veggies, and other healthy items... but oh no, I can sure have sugar that melts in your mouth! :)

We took Benjamin and Cale throughout the park in Cale's new birthday wagon he got from his Granny and Grandpa Whitaker. It was perfect! We put blankets in with them and set them up with cheerios and goldfish and they were set! well, for awhile, but Benjamin needed to move and walk.

We were glad it was not freezing cold, but it did get a chill in the air which made it feel more like the Christmas season.

We had so much fun and we are so thankful for great friends to share these times with. They are like family to us and we have shared many difficult times together.... it's great when God blesses us with these lighthearted times to enjoy. Enjoy the pictures!
